MY STORY
In January 2021, I was at my heaviest
(not counting pregnancies, but not far off, eek), and my mounting health issues were starting to get me down: protracted menopausal symptoms (such as hot flushes, disturbed sleep, low energy, mood swings and frequent headaches), chronic acid reflux, increasing clusters and severity of migraines (I was losing one week out of every four), and debilitating joint pain, to name a few.
I avoided being in photos, electing instead to be the photographer(sound familiar?).
I dreaded stripping down to my swimmers at the beach and stopped shopping for new clothes altogether. My teenagers started calling me a grump and telling me I was always angry.
My life was slipping away but I couldn’t find the glass-half-full, upbeat person I used to be.
Then a family member was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and I knew this was going to be my story unless I drastically changed my trajectory.
About then, I saw an ad for the WILDFIT 90-day Challenge which promised to help me re-set my relationship with food, lose weight, and re-discover the health and vitality of a much younger me. What’s more, it promised NO willpower was required.
I signed up for the Masterclass with WILDFIT founder, Eric Edmeades, who talked about seasonal eating and the difference between a “diet” - the short-term changes we make to the way we’re eating in order to meet some short-term goal - and the “human diet” - the way we, as a species, have evolved over millennia to eat in order to achieve optimal health and weight. It made complete and absolute sense to me so I enrolled in the program starting a week later.
I’d tried dozens of different diets and weight loss programs over recent years: Hormone Reset, CSIRO Total Wellbeing, 500 Calories a day, Keto, Paleo, Vegetarian, Atkins, Low Fat, High Fat, Cabbage Soup. Most left me with mixed results, but, sadly, none that lasted, because I realised it’s all great while you’re on the program, but as soon as you finish, there’s no clear path forward to maintain the results and, more importantly, nothing in those diets that help you rewrite unhealthy food relationships or shine a spotlight on the insidious food traps the Big Food Cos lay to get you addicted.
So I was skeptical WILDFIT would be any different, but it wasn’t long before I started noticing fundamental shifts in my mindset and food cravings and some impressive improvements to health issues that I thought were an inevitable part of getting older. That all-important number on the bathroom scales started finally heading in the right direction too.
Gone were the migraines and acid reflux, (and they’ve never returned), and my sleep improved as did my energy … along with my smile.
Summer at the beach is awesome AND I wear a bikini! My menopausal symptoms finally settled down (YAY!).
Having discovered this holy grail of health and weight reboots, I knew I just had to share it with absolutely anyone and everyone who was stuck, just like me and needed a way out, so I trained to become a Certified WILDFIT Coach.
It’s now my mission to help everyone like me - men and women - who’ve reached a “certain age” and think there’s nothing you can do to slow or stop, let alone reverse, what you feel are the inevitable side effects of aging - weight gain and deteriorating health. I’m here to tell you that’s complete rubbish and it’s now my mission to help you discover Food Freedom and how you, too, can look and feel 10 years younger in 90 days.
